January 28, 2012 |
Our next regularly scheduled club meeting will be Saturday, January 28, 2012,
at 11:30 AM at Apple Annie's in Tulare. Most members arrive around 11:00 AM and order their lunch. As usual there will be plenty of time for eyeball QSOs.
The program will be presented by Tom Schiller, N6BT who will talk on several aspects of amateur
antennas.

At the December 2011 meeting the members voted to to support the Malpelo Is-
land 2012 and the Nepal 9N7MD operation since our member Luis, XE1L, was a team member. |

DX'er of the Year |
Congratulations to Frank Reynolds, W6BBS, on being named CCDXC DX’er of the Year for 2010.
Frank was first licensed in January of 2000 as KF6ZQW. He upgraded to Amateur Extra and changed his call sign to W6BBS
Frank is very active working DX on SSB, RTTY and CW. He is chasing DXCC Honor Roll with only one to go.
Besides being very active on the air, he has been in charge of the VE sessions for the Madera Amateur Radio Club for several years. He is secretary for the Madera club.
Frank has been actively helping new hams in the area set up an HF station and get an antenna in the air. At his own QTH, he experiments with antennas by building Yagis, loops and antenna trailers for Field day. He had a great score for our Summer Sprint on SSB.
